Male or Female Himalayan Kitten: Which Should You Choose?
Boys tend to be bigger, but personality matters far more than sex. How to choose the right kitten for your home.

It is one of the most common questions we hear. The short answer: both make wonderful companions, and the individual kitten matters more than whether it is a boy or a girl.
Size
Male Himalayans and Persians are usually somewhat larger and heavier than females, with broader heads. If you like a big, sturdy lap cat, a male may appeal.
Personality
You will hear that males are more laid-back and females more independent, but in our experience personality varies far more from kitten to kitten than between boys and girls. How a kitten is raised and handled matters most.
Spay and neuter
Once spayed or neutered, most behavioural differences between males and females even out. We can offer spay and neuter at discounted rates through our vet.
If you already have a cat
Temperament and energy level usually matter more than matching or mixing sexes. Tell us about your current cat and we will suggest a kitten who would suit.
